Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why should I hire you?
Not only am I thoroughly educated on the most up to date, scientifically backed research on nutrition and exercise; I am also an empathetic, down to earth, and nurturing trainer. There was a time in my life where I couldn't lift 5 pounds over my head! I have a very profound, first hand understanding of what fitness can do to utterly transform one's quality of life. I am honored to share this passion with other people and help them become their best selves yet! Come as you are, we can always make a positive impact, together! It would be my pleasure.
  • What are your certifications?
I am CPR/AED/first aid certified for infants, children, and adults. I am also certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine in Personal Training, Nutritional Coaching, and Corrective Exercise. I can provide valid documentation via email if interested.
  • What services are included in your in-home training packages?
I offer in person exercise training, nutritional coaching, and corrective exercise services tailor made for you, in the comfort of your own home!
  • Can you train me at my preferred gym if I give you a guest pass?
Unfortunately, no. All commercial gyms ban freelance training. This includes Planet Fitness, Crunch, Green Ridge Recreation Center, Golds, and many more gyms. If you wish to train with me in a gym setting, I am a personal trainer for the YMCA Tanglewood location! Please contact the Tanglewood YMCA if you wish to train with me in a gym setting. Although, if you have access to a private gym, like a community gym, apartment gym, or a home gym, as long as the individual facilities allow it I can train you there!
  • Do you bring your own equipment to in-home personal training sessions?
Absolutely- I will bring the gym to you. I own a plethora of equipment so you will get the most out of every work out no matter what your goals are!
  • Are you child/pet friendly?
Absolutely! One of the perks of training at home is there is no need to find a babysitter. However, safety is my #1 priority, the only thing I ask is for them to not touch the equipment I will be bringing in to your home.
  • What would be discussed during the consultation?
During the consultation I will ask you questions about your health history (previous injuries, weight changes, chronic illnesses, chronic aches/pains, etc.), fitness history, potential barriers to exercise, and short/long term goals! This information is needed to assure that you do not need clearance from a doctor to exercise with a Personal Trainer. **If you intend on booking an at home physical assessment appointment after the consultation, for both of our safety, we will exchange copies of our drivers licenses or ID's**
  • What will we be doing during the physical assessment?
Physical assessments are imperative to perform before we begin an customized exercise program. We will start with a static (still) posture assessment before moving on to more dynamic (moving) postural assessments. During the postural assessments you will perform a series of movements so I can examine the way your body's muscles and joints cooperate with one another in order to pinpoint potential muscle imbalances or mobility restrictions. Following the postural assessments we will do one cardio assessment to measure your heart health; lastly, I will have you perform 3 endurance assessments (wall sit, plank, and push ups) these assessments establish a personalized baseline so we can measure how much you improve over time. With this information I will be able to create a custom exercise program made just for you and only you!
  • What is corrective exercise?
Corrective exercise is a specialized approach designed to address muscle imbalances, improve movement patterns, and enhance overall function. It focuses on identifying and correcting specific movement deficiencies. The main goal is to reduce pain, prevent injuries, and improve performance. The process begins with an assessment to identify any movement limitations, weaknesses, or imbalances. This helps in creating a personalized program custom to your needs. Corrective exercises can help improve everyday movements, making daily activities easier and more efficient. This leads to better overall quality of life! **IMPORTANT! I am not a Physical Therapist, I can not diagnose injuries or provide rehabilitation for fresh injuries. If you have recently experienced an injury or are recovering from surgery you must get clearance from a medically licensed professional to exercise with a Personal Trainer**
  • What is nutritional coaching?
Nutritional coaching is a personalized approach to help individuals improve their eating habits, achieve health goals, and understand the role of nutrition in overall wellness. Nutritional coaching is tailored to your unique needs, preferences, and lifestyle. It’s not a one-size-fits-all diet plan but rather a collaborative effort to create sustainable changes. Part of my role is to educate you about nutrition by helping you understand nutrition labels and macronutrients/micronutrients. Coaching includes goal setting, regular check-ins, support, and accountability to help you stay on track and make adjustments as needed! **IMPORTANT! I am not a licensed nutritionist, refer to other nutritional coaching question below for more information**
  • How are you different from a nutritionist?
Nutritionists can prescribe specific meal plans and supplements. I do not prescribe meal plans or supplements; I can inform you of personalized nutritional information so you can make well informed dietary decisions on your own. It is beyond my scope of practice to offer nutritional advice if you have any metabolic disorders (thyroid disorders, diabetes, celiac, gastroparesis, etc.)
  • What is the cancellation policy?
If you wish to cancel an appointment, the cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the appointment to keep the session credit. No call/no shows or cancellations made under 24 hours before the appointment will be charged a $35 fee for the appointment missed and you can not redeem the session credit at a later time.
  • What is the session commitment policy?
All session sales and commitments are final (death, severe illness/injury, and relocation are exempt) This policy is in place because the more sessions you book, the more you save per session. It would be unfair to clients who booked long term subscriptions to pay the same amount per session as someone who only completed a couple sessions!
